Director of Instruction
Alasdair has been at Barefoot since 2007 and is the Director of Instruction for the Golf School. Alasdair grew up in Sussex, England where he enjoyed a highly prestigious Amateur career winning many national tournaments before he turned professional. As a Professional Alasdair played tours all over the world and although he enjoyed much success he knew that his future lay not on the course but as a coach. So Alasdair set about serving Apprenticeships with many of the worlds leading coaches before he graduated through the PGA School with an "A" in teaching. Since that time Alasdair has coached players from the total beginner to the Elite level Tour Player. He has and currently works with players on the PGA, Nationwide, European, LPGA and Futures Tours and is regarded as one of the worlds leading and innovative coaches with over 40 Professional victories under his tutelage so far. Your game is in the best hands possible.
Katie Allison Dyer grew up in New Jersey and is now a permanent resident of Little River. Katie played and graduated from Winthrop University. While an amateur she went on to win the Womens Metropolitan Golf Associations Stroke, Match and Met Amateur Championships. In 2001 Katie was the winner of the New Jersey State Amateur Championship held at Ridgewood Country Club. In addition, as an amateur she competed in 3 U.S. Amateur Championships and recorded five top ten finishes in collegiate competition including one win. As a professional, Katie started her career in 2004 on the Duramed Futures Tour. She went on to LPGA qualifying school that fall and tied for 12th making her an exempt member of the LPGA tour. During her year on tour she made the cut in two of the majors including the 2005 US Womens Open and the LPGA Championship. In addition to her playing career, Katie has also spent a lot of time teaching and drawing on her experiences of working with the games top coaches. Combining these two assets has given Katie the knowledge to become a great teacher for players of all levels.
JIM BORDIERI, PHD
Jim is a licensed clinical psychologist and a Professor at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. He has taught Sport Psychology and worked with a wide range of athletes at the university and in the local community, including golfers, swimmers, tennis players and baseball players. In addition, he has consulted to the Performance Enhancement Institute in Naperville, Illinois on stress management, burnout and performance improvement for business executives, professional performers, and athletes. Jims first and foremost passion in sports is golf. He played competitively for four years as a member of Rutgers University golf team. Jim plans to conduct workshops at the Barefoot Golf School and be available for individual consultation.
Michael Hamilton -- PGA Apprentice
Michael is from Chislehurtst, England and has been teaching at the Dyer Golf Academy at Barefoot Resort since 2013. Michael has been a great asset to the Dyer Golf Academy team lending his playing experience to help forge his teaching technique. He gained crucial experience during his amateur career by playing high level tournaments across the world, representing the England South East region and his county 1st team. Throughout his amateur career, Michael has had the opportunity to work with many renowned teaching professionals who have taught him various teaching methods and techniques regarding the golf swing. This has proved invaluable in his ability to apply his personal instruction to help develop his philososhy inconjunction with Alasdair's.
Michael is currently a PGA apprentice working towards becoming a class A professional. He strives to make each students' experience as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible. Working on fundamental mechanics whilst maintaining feel in their swing helps integrate new techniques as efficiently and comfortable as possible.
